Kainan Wings Company was commissioned by Kainan Federation to create a versatile aircraft capable of VTOL and joint operation. working from their existing project of XH-200, they used the basic concept of twin rotor and employed it onto this aircraft. Kainan Wings company was competing with Grima Aerospace for the contract and this aircraft won the title as Kainan army's new joint strike aircraft.
Equipped with varying degree of armament, it can double as transport aircraft to deliver small squad of soldiers in the battlefield. The aircraft itself, being heavily armed, was very effective at this role as they could give the soldiers supporting fire once they have landed.
Later versions modified the personnel space with bomb bay and can deliver a significant payload of JDAM

I haven't seen the movie but yes, these VTOL designs are getting more popular with the introduction of V-22 as it seems

wanted to do a twin rotor design like banshee from starcraft2 and the gunship thing from the movie avatar while keeping modern day design in mind.

wanted to do more plausible design than the two so I took out the rocket/missile pod and tried to make it more aerodynamic while using the familiar look of the ah-64 apache's canopy.

might need to a bit more tweaking here and there, but as of now, it'd probably stay this way

ah I see. Well it looks steller dude :O I'd say it came out well.

*groan* i'm trying to design ships for my friends indie game project, but I have no idea how to design ships :/ ecspecially since he wants them to be very realistic. any tips?

I have a folder in my computer with various pictures of military related subjects. while they're mostly pictures of guns, I referenced this one to apache attack helicopter, V-22, and banshee from starcraft 2

basically just get yourself familiarized with certain elements until you can reproduce them with little difficulty.

looking up different pictures of Iowa class battleship, nimitz class aircraft carrier, or 17th century Galleon might help depending on what he's looking for

in a nutshell, it's all about expanding your library of references

Gorgeous aerial vessel, although I believe it is a VTOL, not a helicopter.

Though I considered it, VTOL crafts are usually referred to fixed wing aircrafts. Since this one uses rotors instead of jet engine, I figured it fits the category.

also thank you for the compliment.

I'm only saying that VTOL is a better label, simply because of, well, my former Halo nerdiness. Almost every UNSC air vehicle in that series is a VTOL, and this looks starkingly similar. Anywho, just sayin'. Ignore my insomnia.

It seems that both Hornet and that scorpion gunship thing from Avatar
uses the label VTOL.
Thank you for your information
and good luck with that insomnia.
